Ashlin and Joshua Wedding Cake Pictures by Too Pretty To Eat

Ashlin and her mother arrived for her tasting with ideas for design and knowing they wanted an interesting taste profile for her wedding cake.  The final verdict…TWO flavors!  Apple Spice and sour cream pound cake, both with our signature white chocolate buttercream.  The rustic- elegant  design featured hand made  chocolate twigs, ridged buttercream application, and a gorgeous custom made monogram topper. The cake base was a section of tree with bark intact surrounded by a twig nest.  The ceremony site featured one of a kind handmade life- size branch, twig, and moss covered décor. The fabulous outdoor rustic-chic setting was beyond beautiful as was Ashlin.

Angie and Brian’s Too Pretty To Eat Wedding Cake Pictures

We met Angie and her mother at their home.  Since the wedding was to be held outside on their beautiful farm we wanted to visit the site. The first being we encountered was Jesus ( the Spanish pronunciation,Hay-soos)—a sassy sassy burro. Definitely a crowd favorite at the wedding. One of our photos show him with his wedding hat on. He would turn away from the crowd to express his attitude at being photographed  too many times !  We sampled cake in their lovely home, and the choice was made to have two flavors: strawberry cake and yellow cake, both with our signature white chocolate buttercream.  The dotted swiss design complimented the gorgeous floral tiers. Perfect for an outdoor summer wedding.  Angie expressed the desire to “knock it out of the park” with an extravagant cake for her fiancée.  We did our best. It was an operating replica of his turntable-made of cheesecake-playing a chocolate replica LP of his favorite artist. We imbedded an MP3 player so the music was playing. A stack of edible records, and a chocolate football cake with his favorite team logo were surrounded by family photos making Brian’s cake presentation impressive!

Jessica and Thomas Too Pretty To Eat Wedding Cake

After our initial conversation we all said, “Southern Elegance”.  Jessica, her mother and I agreed…this is the look, the feeling to achieve with the cake design.  Simple and yet elegant.  In Jessica’s cake, the beautifully simple design speaks for itself.  The Swarovski crystal banding, the pearl and crystal brooches speak elegance. Our moist yellow cake and our signature white chocolate buttercream were the perfect classic choices.  This outdoor venue was     lush and beautiful. Even in October, flowers were blooming in every direction around the wedding site.  The table décor and floral arrangements completed the original aim…”Southern Elegance”!!

Elisa and Pete’s Too Pretty To Eat Wedding Cake

An amazing destination wedding to Buffalo, New York. Amazing mainly because Spencer was at the hospital with Elisa’s dad, Norman when she was born!   We have seen her grow up and were thrilled to be asked to make her wedding cake.  The cake tasting, the design- all accomplished via Fed Ex overnight and email. Elisa selected our yellow cake with one layer of caramel filling and one layer of chocolate mousse filling.  The results were as Elisa described- “perfect, delicious, and more beautiful than I imagined”. The wedding ceremony was held at the most beautiful St. Joseph University Parish church.  The elaborate Terrace Ballroom in the historic Statler City hotel was a magnificent setting for Elisa and Pete’s reception.  We were charmed and honored to witness the Oczepiny ceremony. It is one of the oldest and most important Polish wedding customs symbolizing marriage as an everlasting venture.  We had a wonderful time making and delivering this cake!

Camry and Josh Too Pretty To Eat Wedding Cake Pictures

Camry had a cake design that she just loved.  In fact, she had the idea since she was 17, many years before her wedding. Camry selected our yellow cake, some tiers with strawberry filling, some with raspberry filling and some with buttercream filling.  The cake was covered in vanilla fondant  with turquoise fondant swirls and pearls.  Handmade edible sugar flowers in coral completed the décor.  The colors coordinated beautifully with the floral arrangements.  Her outdoor venue and the Sept 1st date were in perfect accord with the late summer beautiful weather.

Kayla and David’s Too Pretty To Eat Wedding Cakes

The outdoor venue selected by Kala and David was just perfect for their June wedding.  Kayla walked in by a flower-lined lake to take the arm of her father.  As the groom walked down to meet his soon-to-be bride, we rushed to get his groom’s cake in place.  It was Kayla’s gift and surprise for him- a Tardis cake complete with the light on top.  Kayla’s cake was rustic-chic complete with a ruched burlap cake base and cross cut wood cake stand.  Her flavor was our sour cream pound cake with our signature white  chocolate buttercream. David’s cake was yellow with Italian meringue buttercream.  Dr. Who was there in spirit !

T.J. and Alan’s Unique Wedding Cake Pictures

T.J. and Alan had decided upon a beautiful and vibrant color scheme. The gorgeous colors in the peacock feather décor inspired the hand painted design elements on their fondant covered cake. Their cake featured three flavors: carrot with cream cheese filling, strawberry with cream cheese filling, and yellow cake with Italian meringue filling. Their venue in Cookeville was mid-point for their family and guests traveling from both north and west Tennessee.  We sent them on their honeymoon with cupcakes adorned with edible peacock feathers and pearls.

Gail and Sam’s Too Pretty to Eat Wedding Cake Pictures

Gail’s childhood home was the venue for her wedding.  She and Sam loved this beautiful pastoral setting and so did all their guests. They both loved our carrot cake , chocolate cake, and our pound cake. It was a hard decision and they chose our sour cream pound cake and Italian meringue buttercream. (We made sure they received carrot and chocolate cupcakes as a going away gift .) The hand molded and hand painted chocolate leaves seemed as if they could have drifted in from the surrounding trees.  Sam cut slabs from wood to serve as the cake stand.  He was surprised to see a heart shape in the wood.  We all marveled at Mother Nature’s artistry!

Karen and Clinton’s Too Pretty To Eat Wedding Cake

A destination wedding in reverse!  Traveling to middle Tennessee from Florida, Karen and Clinton knew they wanted to celebrate their special day in an outdoor fall setting.  Together they designed and Clinton made beautiful wood centerpieces featuring glass lanterns .  Each tables’ centerpiece was a gift for their special guests.  Karen and Clinton selected a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese filling and our signature white chocolate cream cheese icing. They wanted the fall colors reflected in their cake design.  Hand molded and hand painted chocolate leaves and acorns adorn this four tiered cake. Embossed hand cut fondant ribbons encircle each tier. Truly a beautiful cake for a beautiful venue.

Addie and Troy’s Wedding Cake Pictures

Addie and her parents, Cheryl and Richard, came for her tasting.  They  are “transplants” from California and loving Tennessee. The cake Addie chose was our moist yellow cake and our signature white chocolate buttercream.  Addie selected a very pretty and modern cake design accented with red – so romantic! All the cake décor was edible including the rhinestones set into the middle of the handmade sugar flowers. Monogrammed cookies and Red Velvet whoopee pies completed their dessert table.  The venue was lovely and the cake and other desserts were on an elevated stage leaving plenty of room for dining and dancing.
