We are starting to bake our Spring Collection of Cookies. We’ve been making our Sugar-Shortbread™ Painted Cookies for more than 24 years! We still mix them in small batches, roll, cut, and decorate by hand. I love these cookies; it’s one of my favorite bakery items to make. The main reason is…they ALWAYS make people smile. And, our company name came from the exclamations people would make when they received their cookies. Called Sugar-Shortbread™ because these cookies have attributes of both those cookies types. They are buttery, not overly sweet, crunch nicely when you bite into them and most importantly, you can’t just eat one! The cookie is made of wheat flour, sugar, butter, eggs, pure vanilla, and salt. The icing is made with egg whites and confectioners sugar.
Your 12 beautiful and delicious Easter cookies are wrapped in pink tissue paper inside a beautiful black Too Pretty To Eat gift box. Reflecting back on our years of making custom wedding cakes, I see a kaleidoscope of smiling faces and beautiful places. I hear snippets of conversation, music, tears of joy, and laughter of wonderful family gatherings. I see gorgeous flowers, delectable foods, ribbons, bows, and lace.
We put our heart and all our energy into providing the best tasting made from scratch cake. With exacting attention to detail we tried to faithfully interpret and present the bride with her dream wedding cake. My biggest thrill was watching a bride see her cake for the first time.. As Spencer pointed out, the cake is the only part of the wedding experience that the bride has not seen. The moment she does is priceless.
Each and every bride was special to us. Their personal stories and their wedding experiences were each unique. We were honored to be part of her special day. We felt it was our responsibility to deliver a top quality product in a professional manner befitting the occasion. Our goal was to exceed expectations and we believe we did everything possible to achieve that goal.
We learned so much from our brides, grooms, and their families. We incorporated suggestions and were continually asking for comment and input as to any aspect of their experience with us so that we could improve. They made us better, and for that, we thank you!
As we move away from making wedding cakes into another sector of our bakery business, our goal is to continue on with quality products, exacting detail, professional service and a passion for delighting our customers.
We had so much fun making the cookie favors for Whitney and Scott. Our sugar shortbread cookie is really good and was the perfect choice for the mini tiered wedding cake cookie. The idea of the Rolo with “N” on top made Whitney smile ! This is how the name of our bakery came to be… too pretty to eat!
